Indygo Junction Trench Coat

I am almost finished my dress for that upcoming wedding in early October. I’ve been dragging my bum on that one. I’ve also neglected my blog so much that I think I’ve lost all of my readers. I don’t blame them. Nothing to read.

On Pattern Review there is a sew along going on trench coats. For about a year, I have wanted to make the trench coat by Indygo Junction. It’s cute and stylish. So, this is forcing me to buy the pattern and make it.

Tissue Fit

Before I begin this dress, I want to do a tissue fit. For the cost of Vogue’s patterns, you would think they would spend some money on better quality paper. But nooooooo, they cheap out on thin tissue like paper. So off to Fabricland to pick up some interfacing to apply to my pattern pieces. After ironing on the fusible interfacing and cutting it all out. I have my pieces reinforced to help prevent tearing during the tissue fit. I’m on vacation right now so I will not be getting to this fitting process until a couple weeks from now.

On another note, my SIL posted this pic of her and my brother’s dog, Ebony on Facebook. What a gorgeous pic! I love that dog!

Next Project

I have been missing my dear sewing machine and have been thinking about my next project. Today my husband mentioned that his cousin will be getting married in October. A cooler month but not winter. I went online shopping for a pattern and decided to make this dress Vogue 8180. I’ll making the view with the sleeves. I like the simple but fitted design of this dress. I also like the way the skirt if pleated. Nice.

Amy Butler does it again!

Okay, now I’m really jealous. Amy Butler now has a line of paper and embellishments for scrapbooking. I love her scrapbooking line just as much as her fabric. I would love to be a designer like Amy Butler. That would be my dream to have a studio and to be called a designer.

I am working on a skirt by Burda. Fabric? Amy Butler of course. Her fabric is soooo delicious! I’ll post pics when I’m done.
