About Me
Hi and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. My name is Lori and I live in the middle of Alberta, Canada, in oil country where everyone seems to want to be these days. I was born and raised in Edmonton and it seems that there are very few Edmonton-born residents here now.
I’m married to a very supportive, computer-technical, science loving husband. I have two kids and three pets (two cats and a dog). I LOVE to sew. I have been sewing since middle school/junior high. I sew fashion apparel, home decor, crafts, and quilts. Sewing is a very under rated skill that EVERYONE should know how to do. My own dad uses my mom’s machine to mend his clothes and he is a carpenter!
Please join me weekly for tutorials and more on how to sew.
I am the owner of Iocchelli Studio: Sewing for the Home
I custom create window treatments, bedding, accessories and more. Please send me a message to see what I can create for you!!

Lori,
Your blog is absolutely great! Tell your husband that he did a fabulous job on it. I enjoyed reading your past posts and will be back often. I sure wish I had sewing classes available where I live…. you are fortunate in that, and I envy you.

Hi Lori
I just got a “Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender” for the e-mail I send you wednesday, as a reply for the comment you left on shoponion..
Anyway.. here is the text in the mail I send you
Hi Lori
Thank you for your comment!
The instructions for 1032 are almost translated (am planning on finishing them tomorrow morning), and the 1023 is on my list of patterns to translate this month. If you like, I can send you a mail to let you know when they are done.
However, in a week or so my husband will be done with the programming that will allow you to download the instructions from the site (instead of me printing them and mailing them) even if the pattern is translated after you buy it. (I.e. you will get access to download the instructions for all the patterns you have bought in the shop, as the translations are done).
Hugs from Maria

Lori,
I’ve been reading your blog for a while and find it interesting and entertaining. I am intrigued by your efforts to learn to crochet. Years ago, in the 1970’s I was a crochet addict, making slippers, afghans, ponchos, purses and some clothing. In 1974, I made a beautiful jacket of Grannie Squares out of an ombre yarn in colors of brown, cream and coral. Instead of buttons, I hand stitched a separating zipper to the front opening. The jacket was stylish and beautiful and I received many compliments. I have no idea what happened to that jacket, but I wish I still had it as it would still be in style. I applaud your efforts to learn. I still have the booklet from which that pattern was taken. It is called “Crochet with Squares” copywright 1974. I’ve scanned and copied the directions for that jacket, and 2 other variations (just color really), and the assembly chart. If you email me, I will send you a zipped file with the jacket directions and also directions for a shrink. The booklet also has directions for Granny Square hats which I can also send you if you need them. It also has a Granny Square sleeping bag!!!!

Hi Lori, I read you serger comments on PR and wanted to double check that is was the hobbylock 796 that you had and check if your still happy with it. I have a 784..real basic.. but am wanting to esp. do flatlock stitching. I’m also trying to decide if it’s worth it to invest in something to do coverstitch. Let me know your opinion if you get a spare moment. Thanks alot.
