Happy Birthday Brad!

Brad Pitt and I share a birthday. I make that known to everyone. My dh laughs at me when I point it out to anyone. I’m sorry but I have a weakness for the guy. When he came up to Edmonton to make the movie Jesse James I should have waited outside his temporary home just to say hi. He did say hi to people who did wait for him. I saw it on the news. Rats!!! I missed my chance!

My dear husband bought me a yummy drink from Starbucks and some beautiful roses for my b-day. Isn’t he sweet? Oh and he also got me a gift certificate from a scrapbooking store. Thank you hubby!!

Changing gears

Right after Christmas, I’m getting a start on an endeaver that will be a lot of work. I mean A LOT! With my mom, I will be making three, maybe four scrapbooks documenting my family’s life starting at my Grandparents journey to Canada. My mom, who is not a scrapbooker, will be in charge of the journaling and organizing all the photos. I will have my husband scan three copies and I will do the scrapping. This will put my sewing to a screeching halt in 2008. I have a trench coat which I want to finish during the holiday season. After that, my sewing machine will rest. I will miss her during that time but I may just pump out a summer dress in the Spring. Maybe.

I’ve been scrapping for 9 years and I’m up for a real challenge with this project. Each child in my family (my brothers and I) will receive a book. For my parents, we’ll probably work on a more detailed version of my parent’s childhood which will depend more on my mom’s participation. I want to give my brothers their book next Christmas.

So, to get my creative juices flowing again I have been doing some searches for some scrapbooking blogs. There are a lot out there. This blog by Candice Carpenter looks good. If you look under my blog roll you will see I added more scrapbooking blogs.

Martha Stewart

I love Martha Stewart’s website. Her staff do such a wonderful job with filling it with fantastic recipes, crafts, decorating idea and much much more. I could spend hours every day on there. If I had the time, I would try to some of her cool crafts and such but I get to may be try one here and there.

This morning while the kids were playing I sat at my sewing machine looking at all the stitches it has and the fancy functions it can do. I love my machine. But the next time I purchase a machine I’m not spending so much money on one. I will most likely stay with Pfaff as it has the IDF but all I need is the dual feed and the needle down/up function. I managed to squeak in some sewing too which I really miss doing. The Xmas season as not allowed me to get cuddly with my machine. I made my daughter some head bands. I found a tutorial on KC Quilts. She loves them!

New Theme

I’ve been wanting to change my theme for a while. I like the other one but I’m tired of the blue and I also wanted to make my theme more general.

Christmas shopping is almost over. I have a few homemade gifts to make. I still have not make the corn bags yet and I have three scrapbooked layouts to make for Grandparents. But life is so busy.
