Just Sew It

Next step….

I tissue fitted my dress. As usual, I have to lengthen the bodice by 2 inches. I also made the front neckline a little less deep so I would not have to worry all evening whether my boobs are showing. Oh ya, men love it but I feel uncomfortable with it. I’m not a big girl and I don’t like being gawked at. I found some nice fabric at Fabricland. It’s black with beige flowers. I plan on buying a red purse and wear a reddish lipstick to kind of get that 1940’s look. Now, to prepare the fabric for cutting.

We drove an hour one way to a town just to get this pool:

Tissue Fit

Before I begin this dress, I want to do a tissue fit. For the cost of Vogue’s patterns, you would think they would spend some money on better quality paper. But nooooooo, they cheap out on thin tissue like paper. So off to Fabricland to pick up some interfacing to apply to my pattern pieces. After ironing on the fusible interfacing and cutting it all out. I have my pieces reinforced to help prevent tearing during the tissue fit. I’m on vacation right now so I will not be getting to this fitting process until a couple weeks from now.

On another note, my SIL posted this pic of her and my brother’s dog, Ebony on Facebook. What a gorgeous pic! I love that dog!
