How to Make a Granny Square
One of the reasons I got into crocheting and knitting is so I would have something to do while waiting for my kids during their extracurricular activities. The other reason? It’s so popular how can I resist. Besides, it’s nice to have a crocheted blanket to cuddle up to.
So last night while my dd was in jazz, I worked on a Granny Square. I have been practicing and making samples for all kinds of stitches. For that, I’m just using some old acrylic yarn I’ve had for several years. I found a wonderful site that has great instructions for making a granny square.

There also is a Granny Along that one can join. Check it out.
I just had to share these photos of my kitties. Meek is taking a nap in her bed and she is a big girl. So big that her feet hang out. I love cat feet.

The Roc decided to bask in the sunshine on our deck. He can’t wait until the weather really warms up so he can have his nap in the playhouse.

Granny squares are perfect for learning crochet… and once you’ve made enough for a blanket… then you will grasp the seaming process of crocheting… and I love to use acrylic for blankets… the fibers soften once washed… kept hooking…lol Your cats are adorable… I am also a cat owner… her name is Darla, 13 y.o and a wopping 20lbs and she reigns supreme around the house.. keeping my 2 dogs confined to the backyard and garage…hehe

How do you keep a continuous G.S. square “square” The first few rows look okay and then it starts to look like it’s leaning to the right. I’ve crocheted for years and make great afghans for charity but lately I’ve had this problem. The squares are fine but it’s too time-consuming . Many thanks.
