Coverstitch
I need a serger with a coverstitch. My Pfaff is about 15 years old and works great but does not have the coverstitch. I have done without it but I think it would be a good idea to get one. I could get a coverstitch machine but I don’t have the room for three machines. Hmmm….. should I stay with Pfaff or should I check out Bernina, Babylock or Elna. Should I go computerized? I probably will just stick with the mechanical to keep the price down.

I don’t know…. I’ll probably stick with Pfaff.

Wah! My Pfaff serger doesn’t have a coverstitch either! I’ll be watching to see what you end up with.

I purchased the Janome CP 1000 about a year ago and love love love it! I read Debbie’s Coverstitch FAQ before making my purchase, that took the fear out of buying one. I bought it because I prefer standalone machines, so now I can go from sewing machine to serger to my coverstitch machine without missing a beat! I liked knits before but I love knits now!

I saw on the pattern web site you have a phaff
hobbylock 797 is there trick to setting the stitch
length? When I try to change mine it won’t budge
so I am not sure if it is broken or if there is a
trick to it. The manual says to depress the feed dog
and then turn it but as I said it won’t budge
If you could give me some info on this serger I would
really appreciate it!
