I caught it!!
I have caught the quilting bug! I love it! Last night was my class. When I walked in the door carrying my heavy sewing machine, the owner greeted me and told me that the class was cancelled! In my head I thought, “great, why did no one call me?” After driving all that way?? He told me that Charmaine called everyone. Ya, right she did. That is the same dimwit who screwed up my registeration for both classes. He told me that the instructor had fell (on ice most likely) and broke her wrist and had a concussion. Poor lady how awful! I saw a couple of girls from my class sitting down and they told me to come in. There was a machine quilting class starting and the instructor kindly told us that she would teach our class too. How nice! So we got our lesson plus a lesson on stippling, etc. Bonus!! She also told us that she never pins when she bastes her quilts. She uses a spray to baste them together. Much much quicker. She also told us that our instructor does not like to use the spray method. I wish that option would have been given to us. I am going to try that method because I don’t have a lot of time in my life to spend hours pinning. Anyways, she showed us how to put binding on and talked about stencils. I was glad I stayed. A girl in my class had brought a bottle of wine to share with everyone but instead we all chipped in the bottle of wine and gave it to her for teaching us.
My first attempt at stippling isn’t so great. But I had fun doing it. Need lots of practice!

It’s snowing like crazy today. Perfect day for some quilting…

Umm, I’m glad you caught the bug but I have to tell you it’s a hard one to shake. If you think you have lots of fabric now, just wait, you’ll start by finding the perfect “main” farbric and then start buying complementary fabrics that could go with…………and it just doesn’t stop.
P.S. There is no known medication for this ailment either.
