Scrapbooking
I like to scrapbook. Like. Not love. My passion is sewing but I do like to preserve precious photos. Most of my photos go in a photo album but I do like to do some scrapbooking so I can journal special memories. Scrapbooking is very expensive so I try to keep it down to a minimum. I find many companies/magazines focus on selling their products instead of encouraging the journalling part. But then they would never make any money. I will never post my layouts simply because I don’t like to disclose too much about my family. You never know if a lunatic is reading my site.
Any scrapbookers reading my blog??

I also just *like* to scrapbook. I’d rather sew or knit. It’s almost as if I feel like I have an obligation to scrapbook. I like the layouts I’ve done, but they are just too time consuming. I also don’t think I’m quite creative enough. Sewing and knitting patterns give me an outline. Then if I have a great idea, I can deviate from the pattern a little bit (or a lot). I always feel lost with scrapbooking.

Hi Lori – I scrapbook too. I know you from PatternReview.com (my alias there is Rosephreak.) I also sell scrapbooking stuff, but I totally agree with you about the journaling. I’m more of a hobbiest consultant, not high-pressure-think-i’ll-make-a-career-of-it consultant. The thing I tell my family that is important is that you have to get the story down that is behind the picture. How many times have we shown our favorite pictures to people only to continue on and tell them what happened that day. Alternatively, I did a heritage album for my father some 10 years after he died and if it wasn’t for the notes on the back of his photos, I never would have known what the story was. Some I still don’t.
Scrapbooking is expensive, but so is sewing, so I split my time between the two. I love them both. Sewing probably more – like you.
Love your blog. I’m going to have one someday soon. I hope. After I make my wardrobe for hawaii and my mom’s. He he he.

Hi Lori!
I just happened upon your blog and love it. I also scrapbook and sew. I’ve scrapbooked for several years and sewed for only 1 1/2 years. I started sewing only after purchasing a sewing machine for scrapping and took a class to learn how to use my machine. I absolutely love sewing. In fact, I can’t tell you the last time I’ve cropped. However, I have signed up for 2 crops later this month and I’m going to a Scrapbook retreat in February so maybe I’ll get caught up.
