Just Sew It

Shopping for Fabric

I went to Fabricland to look for some fabric. Fabricland is NOT my favorite place to shop for fabric but they are the only one close by and the only one that offers a membership. I did pick up some fabric for my dd. I purchased a crinkle cotton for a top and a fine pink cordouroy for a pair of pants and maybe some shorts. I also bought some trim to jazz my outfits up. I am going to make a pretty top that is featured in Ottobre Design. Ottobre Design is a magazine that is produced in Finland. They have the most beautiful kids patterns that there is. I love patterns made in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. They are unique and fashion forward. Quality also is a big factor too. My sewing machine is made in the Czech Republic. I am a big fan of European design.

My goal with my sewing is make something that is unique and cannot be found in the stores. I get very inspired watching Project Runway and my creative juices get flowing after watching an episode. I think it would be fun to design children’s clothing.

I would like to finish a jumpsuit that I am sewing for Cassandra so she can wear it tomorrow or Tuesday. Next I will start on a jumpsuit for a little girl that I babysit during the day. I hope she likes it.
