Just Sew It

Pattern Junkie

Oy! I’m becoming a pattern junkie. A member on PR posted new Summer patterns from Simplicity. I found a few that I liked and off I went to Walmart during my dd’s dance class. I only picked out two, 4192 and 4196. I was looking for a summer shorts/capri pattern and something I could wear to the beach. Well, these two patterns are just what I was looking for. I have four other patterns that I want to sew before I start these. I have to get cracking!

Cut, cut, cut…..

Last night after the kidlets went to bed I cut out three patterns for dd while I watched Project Runway. I already know who is going to win. I found out after reading an American blog. Bummer! I’m not happy that Cloe won. I really don’t think she deserved it. I thought Daniel V’s work was much better. It’s probably politics. They probably did not want another gay man to win. What a world! Not fair.

Tonight, I’d like to cut out my three patterns. I’d like to get some fabric for my tiered skirt. This week and weekend I’d like to a lot of power sewing. First the hubby has to pick up my bobbins up for me.

Argh.. Snow!!

It’s Saturday morning and it’s still snowing! Last night we started getting snow with huge flakes. Lots of snow means awful roads and I need bobbins.

Last night I went to Fabricland or should I say loserland and bought fabric for the tunic top and wrap top I am going to make from the Easy Fashion magazine. For two hours, I cut, applied interfacing and added seam allowances to my pattern pieces. Burda Easy Fashion’s patterns are ready to be cut out and do not need to be traced like their big sister’s magazine, “Burda World of Fashion”. Whew! Don’t like to trace unless I have to. Tomorrow, I plan on cutting the fabric out.

Burda Easy Fashion

I ordered a copy of Burda’s Easy Fashion for Spring 2006 from German Canadian News out of Toronto and yesterday I received my copy. I love it. There are at least four things I want to sew for the summer. I like this issue because the clothes are much more casual than Burda World Of Fashion. I work at home and I do not need any dress clothes for the summer. I have a lot sitting in my closet.

Take a look .

I am going to make the Tunic top, a pair of trousers (short ones), the wrap top and wrap dress. I might make one of tiered skirts too. I’ll see if I can find the right kind of fabric first.

But I must first sew a couple of things for Cassandra and then a skirt and top for myself from Burda patterns.

I love Burda!!

Oscar Night

I love to watch the Oscars specifically for the beautiful gowns that the stars wear. My all time favorite thing to sew are dresses and watching the red carpet is fun! Here is a peak at the red carpet.
